Pinewood Derby

Today was Nick's Cub Scout Pack Pinewood Derby. In my opinion he had the hottest little car there! I was so proud. Nick & Nelson really worked hard on creating a super-pimped out ride!

This Week

With three boys I should stop sounding surprised when we have a busy week. On Sunday, Nelson & Nick put our new grill together. The old and the new...

Nelson worked late a few nights this week so...it was just me and the boys - Cameron and Luke. They got some fresh air by playing football in our front yard.

My Kids

I didn't take any new pictures today - except of our new grill but I haven't moved those from the camera to the computer yet. I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures of my kids. I feel so lucky to have them in my life. Some of them you may have seen in my Family Favorite's slide show but I like some of them so much I'm going to show you them again ;) Thanks for checking them out.

Nick is my little model - he loves the camera as much as it loves him.



Now, Lukie is so cute and a very typical silly 7 year old.



And last but not least, Lanie. I'm so proud of her - being a Leon Band alumnist - she is a freshman at Leon in Symphonic Band. She had Solo & Ensemble yesterday and earned a Superior on her flute solo. Yay Lanie - keep it up!


And a picture I didn't take but it was taken on the same type of camera by a great friend of our family - Jody Coogle. He has also taken up photography and has proven to be quite good - I hope I can catch up with him skill wise!

Busy Week

It has been such a busy week. I had a chance to take some pictures today to make up for this week.

Let's start with... The whole family has had this awful stomach bug this week. I came home from work one day to be with Nick.

Then it was Valentine's Day - Nelson and I bought each other a new tv for the living room - we are really enjoying it. We were both surprised how big it is - here is a picture next to Luke to demonstrate size.

Since Nick has been feeling better this weekend, he has been working on his pinewood derby car for Cub Scouts.

I also caught some cute pictures of my dogs this weekend...Xehn and Zoe.


And the funniest thing so far this weekend - Luke fell asleep with his mask on - too cute - I couldn't help but capture this moment.

Luke's 7th Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Luke's 7th birthday. Some of his school friends came with their families. Spongebob squarepants was the center of attention along with Luke at the party. The kids had a great time and the parents had a hard time getting them to go home.

Alexis

Finally I'm home! Today I spent the day with my cousin, Alexis. She gave me the opportunity to practice some portrait photography. I had so much fun...hopefully I can photograph her with her husband and family soon! Thanks Alexis! Here are few of my favorites from our day.

Work Trip Days 3 & 4

Sorry I missed the past two days...the hotel we were staying at lost all phone and internet services when a construction crew cut the lines. On Thursday we visited the District 13 Medical Examiner's new office/morgue - awesome facility - hope they get moved in soon.

On Friday we held our first Medical Examiners Commission meeting of 2008. We honored my fellow staff member with his resolution since he will be retiring on the first day of spring. I will miss working with Jim very much...here is a picture of Jim from our trip.

Today we were in Sarasota. I found this bird who was cool with letting me get close and take pictures. I liked the tail feathers. Enjoy.

Work Trip

This week I'm traveling for work. I brought my camera hoping to capture some new things or places. Today we were in Leesburg at the District 5 Medical Examiner's Office. I like this picture of the flag outside of the office.


Tonight we are in Sarasota so we can visit the District 12 Medical Examiner's Office tomorrow. It's really pretty here on the water - hopefully I can get some pretty pics before we head to Tampa tomorrow afternoon.

Luke

Today is Lukie's 7th birthday! Happy Birthday Luke! Nelson & I got him a big boy bike - you could really tell he was getting too big for his little boy bike! He says he can go really really fast now! It was cute this morning when he woke up - he didn't think today was his birthday because the party isn't until the 10th.




Nelson gave Luke his first "shaving" lesson last night. He used real shaving cream with his fun pirate razor.

Bryson

Last weekend I updated my album of Bryson. He is adorable but was in quite the serious mood for his 7 month pictures. Most of the album is from when he was 3 months old. I'm going to keep taking his pictures and adding to his album - hopefully next time we spend some time together he will be smiley again!



A good friend of mine did something really nice - if I ever become a professional photographer, I'll already have a logo!

My first blog...

Well, I guess the best way to describe this blog is...my adventures in learning how to become a photographer. I love taking pictures. I love capturing those moments that catch the perfect expression on someones face. I work for the state in real life but this is great fun and something I really love. I'm still learning but I hope you enjoy the experience I'm gaining with the help of my friends and family.
